Dear Student and/or Parent,
Thank you for choosing Sew Much More. The classes are designed to give each student lots of personal attention. I teach 3 to 4 students at a time. Each class runs for 90 minutes. Everyone is working on their own project at their own pace. I encourage questions.

Patterns, Fabric, & Notions:
The drawstring bag will be your first project. It helps me to see your skill level and we will use it to store your unfinished projects in the classroom. I allow students to use any patterns that I have in class. There are many samples in the classroom to help with ideas of what to make. I do encourage students to make what interests them - garments, crafts, home dec, or quilting. The pattern catalogs at the fabric stores are also helpful. You will purchase your own fabric and notions after we discuss it in class. All fabric that is made into garments or quilts must be washed before coming to class. Many fabrics will shrink in the washing or drying process. Always check the top of the bolt of fabric you are purchasing for washing instructions. Some are dry clean only. It is not necessary for you to bring your own sewing tools - such as, scissors, tape measure, pins, ect. Each sewing station has its own drawer of sewing tools. I have 3 Kenmore sewing machines available for students to use during class. However, you may wish to bring your own to class to become more familiar with it.

Cost:
Group lessons (3 to 4 students) run for 90 minutes. If you use my machine, the cost is $15.00. If you bring your own machine, the cost is $12.00 Private lessons are $15.00 per hour with my machine or yours. Payment is due on the day you come to class or can be made in advance. Checks can be made out to Sew Much More or Sue Schrock. I request that a 24 hour notice be given if you are not able to attend a scheduled class so that I can try to fill that space with a student from the waiting list. If I am unable to fill that class, you will be charged for the missed class.

Freebies:
You can earn free sewing lessons. Tell your friends about Sew Much More. Your referral must give me your name when they first contact me. I will send you a “free lesson” coupon after they attend their first class. Ask to see the Treasure Box. After you complete 5 projects, you may pick a gift from the Treasure Box - spool of thread, sewing notion, fat quarter of fabric, etc. You will be asked to sign a paper stating that you have read and understand this student letter and its guidelines. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I will enjoy working with you. I love sewing and I hope you will want to Sew Much More, too.
